SCRIP Program General Policies and Procedures

1.     In order to participate in the MVPA SCRIP Program, the MVPA SCRIP Program General Policies and Procedures must be read and understood and an account must be established.  Email is the official mode of communication for the program.  An email address is required to participate.  Once your account is established and ordering begins, it is assumed the account holder agrees to the policies and procedures of the SCRIP program.

2.     The percentage earned by each participating family will be held in the MVPA account.

3.     Our main goal in offering this program is to provide an opportunity for tuition assistance to MV families.  Earnings from your purchases will be credited to your designated MV account periodically.  Withholding payment to your MV account on the basis of expecting a SCRIP credit is not acceptable.  Any credit balance on your MV account will carry over as a credit to your next bill.  If your student is leaving the school, and you have a credit balance on your MV account at the end of June, the credit will be transferred to another child’s account or a refund check will be issued to you.  You may also choose to have the amount donated to the Annual Fund.

4.     Ninety percent (90%) of the earnings generated by a family will be retained by the family; the remaining ten percent (10%) will be retained by MVPA to fund shipping and other administrative costs associated with the program.

5.     Payment is due at the time of order pickup and should be given to a representative in the business office.  Payment may be made by a check or money order made payable to MVCDS.  NO CASH OR POST-DATED CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.  If the check is for an incorrect amount, the order will be adjusted so that the order may be processed.  The check amount dictates the SCRIP ordered.

6.      Any participant writing a non-sufficient fund check will incur a fee of $30.00.  This fee must be paid before your next order will be processed.  If two NSF checks are received during the same fiscal year, your personal check writing privileges will be suspended indefinitely.  Money orders will then be required.

7.     Payments for SCRIP orders are NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE as participants are receiving dollar-for-dollar value.  Thus, payments to MVPA SCRIP program are not to be considered, in any way, donations.  If you choose to donate your SCRIP earnings to the MVCDS Annual Fund, you will receive a receipt from the School for the amount of your tax-deductible donation.  However, as neither MVCDS nor MVPA make any representations as to the specific tax implications of any donations made through the SCRIP program, you are encouraged to consult a tax professional relative to any financial or tax implications your participation or donation may involve.

8.     Check the official SCRIP Calendar for order deadlines.  Order entered after the posted deadline will be processed with the next order cycle.

9.     Filled orders will be available for pick-up in the Business Office during scheduled times.  Please check the official SCRIP Calendar for pick-up dates and times.  A signature will be required at pick-up.  Please check your order before you leave!  Once an order is removed from the MV campus the participant is precluded from claiming the order is incorrect in any way.

10. After issuance, SCRIP certificates become the equivalent to cash or gift card certificates and are non-voidable and non-replaceable if lost or destroyed.  The account holder releases MVCDS, the MVPA SCRIP Program and the individual volunteers from any and all liability or claim for any lost, stolen, or destroyed SCRIP.

11. The Program will operate only when school is in session.  Check the SCRIP Website and/or the official SCRIP Calendar for updated order and pick-up dates due to holidays and school breaks.

12. This program is operated by the MVPA for the direct benefit of MVCDS families. Changes in policies and procedures may occur. Its continuation is at the discretion of the MVPA, and is contingent upon having the necessary amount of volunteers and participants.  If the MVPA decides to discontinue this program, MVCDS is under no obligation to adopt the program on their own.
